1) Traditional Preparation – How To Drink Matcha


  • 1 tsp Matcha
  • 8 oz Filtered Water
  • Whisk
  • Matcha Bowl

Heat your water to 165 degrees. Place one teaspoon of matcha powder in a traditional matcha bowl and add your hot, fresh/filtered water. Then take your whisk and mix your powder in with the water until everything is combined and a light foam appears on top. Drink your matcha straight from the bowl for a traditional experience!

2) Matcha Latte – How To Drink Matcha


  • 1 tsp Matcha
  • 8 oz Almond Milk
  • Whisk
  • Matcha Bowl

Heat your almond milk on a stovetop or in the microwave (but be careful not to boil the milk). Place one teaspoon of matcha powder in a traditional matcha bowl and add enough of the almond milk to cover the matcha powder. Then take your whisk and mix your powder in with the milk until the mixture is completely combined. Transfer the matcha to your favorite mug and add the rest of your hot almond milk. You can also enjoy this treat iced by combining cold almond milk with matcha and pouring over ice!

3) Matcha smoothie – How To Drink Matcha

  • 1 tsp Matcha
  • 8 oz Almond Milk
  • 1 or 2 Frozen Bananas
  • 1 tbsp Honey

First break your banana into chunks (do this for two bananas for a thicker smoothie). Eventually, add your banana, almond milk, matcha, and honey to your blender. Blend to perfection! You can substitute traditional matcha with one of our flavored matchas for a fun twist. This smoothie is wonderful with fresh mango and other fruity flavors, so you can get creative with it. We used our Raspberry Matcha and topped it off with fresh berries!

4) Matcha Cooler – How To Drink Matcha

  • 1 tsp Matcha
  • 8 oz Filtered Water
  • 1 cup Ice
  • 2 tsp Loose Leaf Tea

Add your matcha to a pitcher with one scoop of ice in it, add a splash of water and swirl everything together. Then, ice should break up any matcha clumps. Next, make your iced tea concentrate with the tea of your choice by brewing the tea in 8 oz of hot water. Once the tea has steeped, pour it over the matcha coated ice, stir it up, and serve. This is one of our go-to ways to drink Matcha in the warmer months!

5) Matcha Mint Milkshake – How To Drink Matcha

-1 tsp Matcha

-8 oz Almond Milk

-2 to 3 Scoops of Vanilla Ice-cream

-1 tbsp honey

-Mint Sprigs or Mint Extract

If you’re just starting out in the world of matcha, this is the perfect way to drink and enjoy this tea. First combine your ice-cream and almond milk in the blender, then add your matcha, honey, and mint. Note that if you are using mint extract, you should only use one to two drops, adding more to your taste. Finally, blend and enjoy!

  • Another way to froth matcha is to use a handheld, battery operated frother. It makes quick work of mixing the matcha into a thick froth.
